Where to list???

Postby mylittleshops on Thu Mar 18, 2010 8:23 pm

I understand and agree that items cannot and should not be listed in more than one category!

But sometimes I do not know where best to list an item.

Below is a great example.

A vintage Easter Postcard from the United States but with a One Cent US Stamp from 1910.

Vintage Postcards or Stamps???

UNITED STATES 1910 EMBOSSED EASTER POSTCARD WITH ONE CENT STAMP

I have listed in Vintage Postcards. Would you have done the same?

I suppose it depends on which aspect gives the item its value - being an old Easter postcard, or its postage stamp? I have no idea of the answer, so would probably have opted like you for the vintage postcards section. Of course, on some sites, you can actually list things in two categories, and that does have some benefits in such situations, though I suppose that policy could artificially inflate the total number of items on those sites, for better or worse. Anyway, it's certainly a nice item and amazing that it has survived 100 years. I've kept very few of the cards & postcards I've received over the years - probably a mistake I now realise! :D
