It's very encouraging to see the progress being made, in what are financially difficult times for most of us. I was pleased to have 2 sales here near the end of June. :D

Hi Braccles.

The site is working well. I happy that there has been no down time in those 18 months and sales have been growing for me each month.

Had a sale on the first day of the month which looks good. A new member joined from New Zealand to bid and buy a pair of Vintage Postcards.

More than anything the site needs more sellers, which is crazy as most sites need more buyers!

Looks like another sale on the way for you. I mailed a link to a friend in the Netherlands who has already bid on one of your latest offerings.

The motto now has to be for all of us. List more and sell more :)

Thanks for that.

I list what I can, but I'm not very fast, and it has to be fitted in with other activities. I have scanned a large selecton of wrappers, but I have yet to write the descriptions, which is what takes the time. So they will be going on over the course of several days.

But I agree more sellers would be welcome, but unfortunately a lot of people just stick to the big site and are nervous of dipping their toe in unknown (to them) waters! :D

Hi Braccles.

I know how you feel about the time to create new listings as it is my big time problem.

And I agree about unknown waters.

What I not understand is that I know of two sellers who arrived here and in the case of one who lives in Ukraine, listed just three items and sold two of them but never listed again. It makes no sense.

The other listed five lots in the stamp section and sold one for more than $20 and then did not list again.

66% and 20% sales from listings sounds good to me.

There has been no time where the site has been down for more than minutes, never hours or days.

And the site is 100% Free.

For me it is heaven and while the site continues to grow and the sales keep arriving I will stay here.

This month I have already had one sale in an auction that finished with a bid and two sales where the buyer clicked the 'Buy it Now' option.

The buyers are finding the site even if the sellers seem to miss it :o

It is certainly strange that those sellers you mentioned did not return. Perhaps it is the need to continually relist unsold items. I understand the thinking behind this, but it is time consuming and cannot always be done immediately, so items disappear from the site for a couple of days or so until the owner has the opportunity to relist. Maybe there could be an automatic relisting facility but it only worked if the seller logged into the site once a month. In other words if there was no log-in in 28 days, the automatic listings for that seller would cease. But I guess this would be complicated to set-up and I know absolutely nothing about web sites, scripts etc., so I am probably talking off the top of my head! :D

Maybe the site could contact those sellers and invite them to return. Did they get any feedback from their buyers I wonder? I know this can really upset some sellers but it is a fact of life that though buyers may be satisfiesd, they may not always have the time to put feedback. In a busy life this is probably pretty low on one's priorities!

The other unfortunate thing, is that buy it now sales don't show up on the home page, only auctions where there are bids. So there is far more selling/buying activity on here than people might realise. Some sites have got around this by listing the latest 5 or 10 sales, whether by auction or buy it now, on the home page. Again I don't know the complexities of setting this up, and it may go against the spirit of keeping the site as simple as possible. But it's a thought.

Regards.
